Food production

A permaculture project often starts with a good design. The orchard design should create the conditions for developing microclimates to establishing best conditions for a humid environment, natural barriers against dry winds and half shadow spaces.

Bio intensive orchards are based on maximum usage of spaces (both horizontally and vertically), intensive use of organic material for soil nurturing, and association of crops and plats as natural protection ways to avoid plagues.

An optimal food production shall also be sustained in a good local seed bank, with seed storage from best harvesting.
