Land management

Land management begins analyzing orography to understand dips and water flows. Other factors are also analyzed on site such as soil characteristics (composition, structure, humidity, microorganisms), landscape location, winds, sun movement, possible air and water contamination factors, and acoustic and visual pollution as well. All these elements are taken into consideration for designing the permaculture project on paper.

Material knowledge and separation locally is quite relevant along with the use of native, odoriferous and ornamental plants on the physical boundaries for attracting pollinating insects and redirecting other insects that could harm the food production.
